WoW! Do I feel really stupid or what? I had NO idea that the non-profit Susan G. Komen Foundation for Breast Cancer Prevention and Cure(s) donated revenue to Planned Parenthood and other non-profit organizations each and every year. (see article here: http://news.yahoo.com/susan-g-komen-apologizes-cutting-off-planned-parenthood-163217680--abc-news.html ).
Although we've never personally donated to the Susan G. Komen Foundation, this is an eye opener and a fine example as to why we need to be VERY cautious as to where we donate our surplus resources. An immediate investigation into the organizations we do humbly try to bless is a priority. We never want to find that our generosity is, or could possibly be, funneled into another organization or industry that violates our faith, morals and/or our conscience.
Do you know where your donated resources are going?
This has been on our news a lot lately, and Bob and I have been questioning some other places that take donations...one example that worries me is a pet one, people donate money to help with the dogs for the blind, they then receive in an expensively packaged way a key ring with your name on it and a pic of a dog...now how much does all that cost and why not just give all the money to the dog training..we just give to local things now and that way we can see where the money goes..
