Songbird's new beau, Willy, had his official 4-H weigh-in today. He came in at 618 lb., which means he will need to gain an average of 75 pounds per month between now and August. Our extension agent was very pleased to see that this little fella is already halter broke. Songbird is proud of herself for being the first 4-H'er in the county to have completed the halter breaking phase of her beef project.
Willy & Songbird, lovingly gazing into each other's eyes.
Kiss, Kiss, Kiss ... that sound means "follow me".
Oh No! Mr.B smacked Willy's back end ... It scared him ...
Most kids have to walk their dogs ... 4-H'ers walk their livestock.
That's so funny! Glad she's found her special someone! *U*
ReplyDeleteI'm not an expert but they both look like grand champions to me.
ReplyDeleteMy DIL raises dairy show cows and 5.year old grandson is already a pretty good showman
Hi Tori,
ReplyDeleteYes, we all had a few chuckles when Willy became startled and began dragging songbird around like a rag doll.
Blessings to you and yours,
Mrs.B
Hello Mrs. Rhonda,
ReplyDeleteIt is so nice to hear from you. This is Songbird's first beef project, we are hoping she does well. It is certain that Willy is getting good care and lots of love ... Songbird always falls in love with her animals.
Blessings,
Mrs.B
It looks like she is doing a great job with her steer so far!
ReplyDeleteHello Sarah,
ReplyDeleteThank you for stopping by my blog. Songbird is doing her best to follow her project leader's guidance. We are all hoping she does well at the county fair.
Blessings to you and yours,
Mrs.B
I cant imagine walking a big beast like Willy around, especially if he gets a whack on his rear end! I wouldn't mind owning a horse though, I miss riding them.
ReplyDeleteIt looks pretty cold in your neck of the woods. I am happy to report that is is raining again today, just a steady drizzle, enough so my washing wont dry in a hurry, and that is something that doesn't happen very often here.
I apologise for not visiting your blog more often. 2014 was such a busy year for me, that I almost gave up on blogging. But thankfully, after much thought I am back. I had encouragement from fellow bloggers to keep going, they were so kind to private email me to see if I was okay.
I love the lifestyle that you are living out. I can only dream of such pleasures.
God Bless,
Tania xo

I am thankful you all are receiving rain for the second day in a row ... what a blessing for your area :-)
