They would then assign school work via telephone or internet OR allow "make-up" work days. Regarding one's job or work schedule, Mr.B has had to phone the shop and tell them he wouldn't be in because the plows had not arrived and he was snowed in. Many employers will require you use a sick day or vacation day for this.
We hope you all are enjoying your winter!
Blessings,
Mrs.BMrs. B, a very peculiar personhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03579160731517930694noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5456396152774526762.post-43080497538278354582017-01-25T14:23:41.556-07:002017-01-25T14:23:41.556-07:00What happens in regards to school and work in the ...What happens in regards to school and work in the situations when the plow doesn't come for days or weeks? I keep telling my hubby that we need to buy more wood pellets since that is what we heat our home with. He finally listened to me when he saw how quickly we were going through them and that plan is to borrow our son Chris' pickup truck sometime this next week between storms and haul another ton home.Debbiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16449564619872452771noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5456396152774526762.post-65231162197538751932016-12-30T19:31:53.164-07:002016-12-30T19:31:53.164-07:00That is a lot of snow! But here's a funny I didn't mention in my post:
Mr.B jumped in his tractor and set to work clearing snow from our parking area, a 1/3 mi. "roadway" down to our barns, our hay bales and horse pasture BEFORE plowing the 1/4 mi. driveway. By the time he returned to work on the driveway, he realized the tractor was almost out of fuel AND he didn't have any extra on hand! So, we had a cleared parking area, cleared access to our barns, hay and horse pasture but no fuel that would allow us access to the county road which is our only avenue to get more fuel --- HA!HA!HA! Fortunately all worked out - he and Farmer Boy loaded up the shovels and dug the truck out whenever needed as they worked their way to the county road - this took about 2 hours. After returning home with 3 jugs of fuel and plowing the drive, Mr.B comes in and comments, "Well, I'm going to make sure that doesn't happen again". I replied with, "Did you get extra fuel for the power generator?" He put his coat back on, got the generator fuel jugs out of the garage and headed back to town ... LOL! LOL!
I can only laugh, because less than 5 weeks ago I mentioned that we needed to re-stock our emergency fuel as the snows would surely start arriving any day. He assured me he would take care of it. It appears he forgot. But, lesson learned - I doubt he will ever forget to re-stock the fuel again.
Praying you all enjoy a Christ centered New Year celebration,
Mrs.BMrs. B, a very peculiar personhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03579160731517930694noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5456396152774526762.post-4050163210158723312016-12-30T10:42:22.537-07:002016-12-30T10:42:22.537-07:00This comment has been removed by the author.Mrs. B, a very peculiar personhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03579160731517930694noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5456396152774526762.post-73353021342297784422016-12-30T00:49:04.991-07:002016-12-30T00:49:04.991-07:00Hello Mrs B.,

I read one of your comments on Laura's blog about hurting your back and the big snowstorm hitting while you were snug in your home. I'm glad your back is better now.

We got quite a bit here with drifting snow. Many roads around us were closed and flights cancelled at the local airport about 30 miles away from us. One of my friends actually hiked a mile up her snowed in driveway in order to have a friend pick her up and get her to the airport. Her flight was the only one that made it out that day. I took her friend who picked her up 4 1/2 hours to make it home from the airport when it usually takes 20 minutes! My friend and her family are returning home tomorrow and she fears they will be hiking in to their house from the highway. Her husband is going to have to get their tractor out to clear their road!
Debbiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16449564619872452771noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5456396152774526762.post-81039405308117852632016-12-27T20:57:36.554-07:002016-12-27T20:57:36.554-07:00Hi Regina,

It was an official White Christmas. Of course I'm expecting this "honeymoon" with the snow will end after experiencing many more.Reginahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06188723188448901080noreply@blogger.com
