The whole program is $359 divided by 10....pretty darn cheap in the long run. Add in their math (Saxon....ebay avg about $25/child 4th grade+). LA....about $15/child. We are looking at about $76/child this year. I purchase notebooks by the case at .15 each and loose leaf paper is about .10 each at back-to-school sales. Since I buy by the case, I don't have to pay the $2 or $3 per notebook during the year. People give away pencils all the time. FREE is the best price. I replace crayons, erasers, etc at back-to-school sales on an as needed basis. Homeschooling is so much cheaper. We had a friend who registered their child for high school this year to the tune of nearly $750...not including lunches and school clothes. Ridiculous!!!!

I've enjoyed visiting your blog. Thanks for stopping by mine and leaving a comment.

God's BlessingsVickiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11808437059057372095noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5456396152774526762.post-20278968238754337882010-10-13T10:33:37.436-06:002010-10-13T10:33:37.436-06:00Wow!!! $5, $6 or more dollars PER day on school lu...Wow!!! $5, $6 or more dollars PER day on school lunches? You only have 2 in school right now so, that averages out to more than $500 dollars per student per year!!

Even if I bought brand new curriculum for EJ and OG every single year, I would spend less on their curriculum than you spend on school lunches alone.

All this just goes to show us how brainwashed most folks are. They actually think public education is the most economical choice for educating our nation's youth.

Mrs.BMrs. B, a very peculiar personhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03579160731517930694noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5456396152774526762.post-68610934180878645412010-10-13T08:04:20.577-06:002010-10-13T08:04:20.577-06:00Mrs. B:
Although I am not quite "Type A"...Mrs. B:

Although I am not quite "Type A" I do have some numbers in my head that I would like to confess to you.

I am only going to comment on the school lunch cost at this time, because the "office supply" list SEND ME THROUGH THE ROOF!

So here I go--

First off, I have one that does still take lunches to school. That is due to extreme pickiness. I will give you three guesses on who that one is. LOL I have mangaged to find mini-lunchables for .89 cents a day. She takes bottled water at .15 cents a bottle, flavor additive for the water at .20 a packet. Goldfish crackers at 1 dollar a bag breaks down to .20 cents per day. Pretzels or chips depending on the mood. So that comes to either .30 to .60 cents a day.

That totals to 2.04 a day not including the disposable lunch sack.

The oldest insist on buying her lunch and spends $3 to $4 a day on junk, hmmmm, lunch as well.

Oh how I wish I was a stay at home mom that could homeschool.

For those that may be reading this. I am talking about my BONUS daughters that I did not have the priviledge of raising from birth. If so, I would have taught them much better eating habits and I assure you the junk they eat now would not even be in the house. So please before you send you "if they lived with me" comments, know that I have tried to break some habits but all of that starts from the head and with his own eating issues, I cannot make the changes I wish for.

By the way, love the new back ground.

I love you!
Mrs. ACharmin's Thoughtshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01454794977414231023noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5456396152774526762.post-16381702237098477092010-10-05T09:48:40.603-06:002010-10-05T09:48:40.603-06:00That is very good information.
